If you are using my pattern it would be great if you could reference your work so that my work is acknowledged. [Thank you]
The Soldier Socks pattern
was originally known as The Gentleman's Sock in Railway Stitch, and was
first published in the 1880s. It was printed in Australian newspapers
in 1914 as a pattern suitable for knitting socks for enlisted men during
WWI. The pattern has been rewritten here because the original published
version is a bit ambiguous (well, it was to me). There are many
examples of this pattern on Ravelry, taken from Nancy Bush's book Knitting Vintage Socks.

If you would like to leave me a comment, (just a line or two will do), then I will get back to you, and that would be like having a bit of a chat (and that's always nice). :)
